We were given excellent service by the hotel party staff. We were given sample dishes of dishes served for our party. The chefs came out and detailed every dish. The party was a success as we had a hotel employee stay with us the entire time.
The rooms are very outdated the TV only has a few channels, furniture looks very old and the walls are stained, also there was no hot water i would avoid staying here if possible, the cleaning staff was very nice I cant say the same for the front desk
The location of the hotel is in the center of the city, there is a Panama restaurant around the hotel, which is really a good restaurant, it is not a fancy hotel, the corridors are old, but the inside of the rooms are clean.
Planning your trip to Culiacan
When to go
November to March is the window: 25-30°C by day, cool early mornings, evenings you can spend outdoors without thinking about it. It is also harvest season and baseball season, so the business hotels are busy midweek and a few days' notice pays off.
April to June is dry, relentless heat — 40°C and up, with the city shut behind closed doors from early afternoon. July to September holds the temperature and adds humidity, evening downpours and, some years, the edge of a Pacific storm. Air conditioning that genuinely works is not an extra here; check it before you commit.
That hot half-year is when demand slackens and rates soften, but be honest with yourself: nobody walks around Culiacán in June. Holy Week empties the city — everyone leaves for Altata or Mazatlán — which makes rooms easy to find, though plenty of businesses close for the week.
Getting there and around
Culiacán's airport (CUL) sits 10-12 km from the centre, 15 to 25 minutes depending on traffic, with direct flights from Mexico City, Guadalajara, Tijuana and a handful of US cities. Authorised airport taxis to the centre or Tres Ríos run around MX$250-350; ride-hailing apps work here and usually undercut them.
By road, Highway 15D reaches Mazatlán in roughly three hours and Los Mochis in about the same, and long-distance buses run constantly in both directions. The local rule, and it is worth following, is to travel in daylight: nobody who lives here drives Sinaloa's highways after dark by choice.
The city is flat, sprawling and built around wide boulevards. Between Tres Ríos, the centre and the Pedro Infante strip you drive or take a cab — walking between them is not a plan. Normal taxi and app rides cost MX$60-150. Local buses are cheap and thorough but designed for residents; on a short trip, skip the puzzle.
Where to stay, zone by zone
Desarrollo Urbano Tres Ríos, where the Humaya and Tamazula rivers meet, is the safe default: newer chain hotels, office towers, restaurants and the riverside paths of Parque Las Riberas for an early walk. It is the easiest base for a work trip and where most of the tidier nightlife sits.
Along Bulevar Pedro Infante and through Chapultepec and Las Quintas you find mid-range hotels closer to our scanned floor, with parking and restaurants around them. You trade atmosphere for convenience: these are car boulevards, loud and unlovely, but well placed for reaching any part of the city quickly.
The centre, around the cathedral, Plazuela Álvaro Obregón and Mercado Garmendia, has the cheapest and oldest rooms. By day it has the most character in the city — market stalls, arcades, the botanical garden and the art museum a short ride away — but it empties out after dark. Sensible if your business is with the state government.
Near the airport and out by the highway junctions sit the roadside hotels: useful for a dawn flight, a late arrival, or splitting the Mazatlán-Los Mochis run in two. They do that job and nothing else — there is nowhere to walk to once you check in.
Eating and going out
Sinaloa eats seafood, and Culiacán does too despite having no coastline. Shrimp aguachile came out of this state, and at lunchtime the marisquerías fill up with callo, ceviche and cahuamanta. A full seafood lunch with a beer runs roughly MX$250-400 a head; a stall or a taquería gets you out for MX$100-150.
The other pillar is meat: carne asada over charcoal at weekends, chilorio, machaca, late-night taco stands. For breakfast, Mercado Garmendia does the classics — chilaquiles, machaca with eggs, flour tortillas straight off the comal — at market prices, with the city already wide awake at seven.
Nights out mean Tres Ríos, with its bars and terraces, or the quieter Plazuela Álvaro Obregón. From October to January the Tomateros play at Estadio Tomateros, and a ballgame is the best local evening of the winter. That said, Culiacán dines early and goes home early; travel at the city's pace rather than your own.

Book ahead for midweek, when the work travel lands, and aim at weekends if you can flex: that is when business hotels drop their rates. Confirm that parking is included if you are driving, and ask about the air conditioning between May and September — in the older centre stock it is not a given.
