About staying in Puerto Aventuras
Puerto Aventuras is not a town but a gated marina development, entered past a security post and crossed on foot or by golf cart. Around the canals sit restaurants, a nine-hole golf course, a small underwater-archaeology museum and short, sheltered beaches such as Fatima Bay. Cancún is about 100 km north, Playa del Carmen twenty minutes away, Tulum forty. Our 2026 scans found only 6 hotels here with a real price: from US$48 a night and a typical from-price of the order of US$253. The gap makes sense — most of the accommodation is privately owned condos, so the hotel sample is small and lopsided.

Which part of Puerto Aventuras should I stay in?
Stay near the marina if you want to walk to dinner: that is where the restaurants, shops and evening life are. Fatima Bay, to the south, is the longer, quieter beach, better for families and early nights. The inland streets near the golf course are cheaper but leave you ten to fifteen minutes from the sand, with no view. For nightlife, base yourself in Playa del Carmen instead.
When is it cheaper, and when does it spike?
December to April is the expensive stretch, with sharp peaks over Christmas, New Year and Holy Week, when minimum stays appear. May, June, September and October are the soft months: hotter, wetter and clearly cheaper. Our 2026 scans logged rooms from US$48 a night against a typical from-price of the order of US$253, so the range between the two ends is unusually wide.
How do I get there and get around without a car?
Cancún airport is roughly 100 km up Highway 307, an hour to an hour and fifteen; a private transfer runs around MX$1,500-2,500. The cheap route is a bus to Playa del Carmen, then a Tulum-bound colectivo van, roughly MX$40-60, which drops you on the highway about 1.5 km from the marina. Inside the gate everything is walkable, and local taxis use fixed fares.
Can I get in if I am not staying inside the gate?
All Mexican beaches are federal and public, but access here runs through a staffed gate with registration, and day visitors are usually charged for parking. The walkways in front of the condo blocks are for guests. If you are only coming for the day, check the current rules first; if you are staying, confirm your booking includes vehicle access.
