We wanted to highlight the front desk staff for their phenomenal service as well as their maintenance team, who came to our room during the late afternoon. Great little hotel! Excellent location on the beach near lots of restaurants and other points of interest. Every member of the staff that we interacted with went above and beyond to be smiley, friendly and very helpful even though we barely speak any Spanish. Rooms were clean and the housekeeping staff was very thorough and actually came by every day, without needing to be asked! The pool is beautiful and large with many different areas for lounging and swimming. I wouldn’t call this a 5 star hotel necessarily, as in it’s not particularly fancy, but for the price it is a solid hotel. Would 10/…
First and most important, the people and service they provided was great by any countrys standards. The towels and sheets were a bit worn but that is not what we went there for. Food was great. Pool was great. Location was great. Overall experience was great.

The Centro Histórico, around the zócalo and the malecón, is where the city is most itself: danzón in the evenings, café lechero at La Parroquia, the San Juan de Ulúa fortress across the harbour — veteran hotels at very low prices. Boca del Río, to the south, holds the modern towers and executive hotels on a tidier shoreline.
