About staying in El Pescadero
El Pescadero is a farming town with a surf beach attached, not a hotel destination. It sits on Highway 19, about 12 km south of Todos Santos and a little over an hour from Los Cabos, between basil and chilli fields and an open stretch of Pacific coast. Most beds here are rental houses: our 2026 scans found only 3 hotels with a real price, from US$88 a night and a typical rate of around US$386, a figure skewed by the handful of beachfront rooms that exist. You sleep to the sound of surf, and you need a car.

Which area should I book?
Cerritos Beach has most of what rents out: you walk to the break and the beach clubs, though there is music during the day. The town itself, on Highway 19, is cheaper and more local, but with no view and two or three kilometres to the sand. North towards San Pedrito everything is scattered and very quiet. With a car, any of them works.
When are prices lowest?
August to October: humid heat, hurricane season and plenty of closed businesses, September especially. That is the cheap window. High season runs November to April, peaking at Christmas, New Year and Holy Week, when the tiny supply sells out entirely. May and June sit in between: dry, hot, quiet and still reasonably priced.
How do I get here and get around?
Fly into Los Cabos (SJD), then roughly 100 km and an hour and a half on Highway 19 past Cabo San Lucas; from La Paz the distance is similar. Renting a car is the practical answer. The intercity buses linking La Paz and Cabo stop on the highway, but drop you well short of the beach, and local taxis are scarce and pricey.
Can you swim at Playa Los Cerritos?
It is the most swimmable beach along this stretch, sheltered by the point, which is why beginners learn to surf here. It is still open Pacific: rip currents form, the sandbar shifts with the swell and lifeguards are not always on duty. The neighbouring beaches, San Pedrito among them, are for watching and surfing, not for wading in.
