City Express by Marriott Leon

We needed a place to plant ourselves just for the night and it was just that. No frills or fancy stuff happening here - very basic room with very basic amenities. What I did not like was the smell there - some weird smell that I just couldn’t shake off or ignore. Don’t expect Marriott standards here.

Paper-thin walls and barebones amenities—this hotel, which is closer to a motel, is the epitome of “you get what you pay for.” Despite Marriott’s acquisition of the City Express brand, it falls far short of Marriott standards. The same yellow exterior and distinctive stale smell that characterizes other City Express hotels are present. Check-in was painfully slow, and although I requested a room as far from the main avenue as possible, I was given one directly facing it. Very new, very clean, helpful staff spoke excellent English and the rooms are a decent size for business travelers. Tons of outlet and WIFI available (no fridge). Location is excellent located next to a plaza with a huge supermarket and other restaurants. Recommended for business travelers but not so much for families.
