4.6196 reviewsDO. NOT. GO. HERE. EVER!!!!! Not clean, infested with giant insects, horrible service, and no cell towers for at least 7 minutes out. The front desk was particularly rude and unhelpful. No spa services on a Sunday although almost the entire town is closed so you have NOTHING to do on that day. Giant insects (video attached) that ram into your door for hours after it rains. However, the hotel is not exclusive to giant insects as I left with 8 new insect bites in 5 days. No cell service as you’re next to a national park, which isn’t a problem as long as the wifi works. Beautiful boutique hotel with a refreshingly cool saltwater pool. Our room was very comfortable and well air conditioned. Beds were excellent and the balcony features a comfy hammock for a lazy day of reading. The small fridge is handy although we would have liked a coffee machine or kettle. Wifi is strong and reliable. Staff are all extremely friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Be prepared to be woken up rather early by local dogs, roosters and the incredible number of wild birds that call this little valley home. Visited the restaurant, service was excellent but the dishes on the menu like the prawn tacos and Pattats bravas were not good and the pork belly was just deep fried and very oily . Excellent waiter and bartender though

La Crucecita is the town — simple hotels, the market, taquerías — 10 minutes from the bays and home to the best prices. Santa Cruz has the pier, the marina and a friendly town beach; Chahué sits between, quiet and growing. Our 2026 scans logged 37 hotels with a real price: from US$40 a night and a typical rate of about US$93 — markedly cheaper than the Caribbean's big resorts or Los Cabos. Honestly: nightlife is short here and the loveliest beaches are earned by boat or dirt track; you come to Huatulco to slow down.
