3.8186 reviewsFirst night there I had to ask for new clean sheets because there was hair and other debris within the sheets (most likely from the previous occupants). Every day I had to ask for toilet paper and new clean towels, and showers were dirty. Our window was broken so mosquitos would fly in. Overall I expected it to be clean due to some of the other reviews, since that is the key thing I look out for.

Tangolunda is the bay of the big resorts, many all-inclusive, on their own beach. La Crucecita is the town — simple hotels, the market, taquerías — 10 minutes from the bays and home to the best prices. Santa Cruz has the pier, the marina and a friendly town beach; Chahué sits between, quiet and growing. Our 2026 scans logged 37 hotels with a real price: from US$40 a night and a typical rate of about US$93 — markedly cheaper than the Caribbean's big resorts or Los Cabos. Honestly: nightlife is short here and the loveliest beaches are earned by boat or dirt track; you come to Huatulco to slow down.
